Moments after we got the phone call from the fertility clinic, I put on the Creed song With Arms Wide Open  and we cried. :)

Now, every time I think about our baby, I get the song in my head!
"With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
Now everything has changed
I'll show you love
I'll show you everything"

I am certainly not ready for this but my arms are wide open and so is my heart. I can only do my best to ensure that my child always greets the world with love in her heart.
Some say thronging cavalry,
some say foot soldiers,
others call a fleet
the most beautiful of sights
the dark earth offers,
but I say it’s whatever
you love best.

Fragment 16

Today, we got the official news! My wife is pregnant. Love for this not-yet-whole being has already shaken my heart so why not blog about it!

For part of our honeymoon, my wife and I went to the beautiful Island of Lesbos (how awesomely cliche?!). Lesbos is the birthplace of Sapphoa wonderfully romantic Greek poet from 6th century BCE who partook in the love of women (a very good choice, if you ask me). For each posting, I am going to attempt to attach a quote from one of Sappho's pieces. We shall see how it goes!!

It has been quite a journey to get here so please feel free to follow the story of our adventure into motherhood as it unfolds.
Love shook my heart
Like the wind on the mountain
rushing over the oak trees.
